 Sugar Glider Toys and Accessories
Sugar gliders are colony animals and do require changing interaction to stay mentally healthy. They are also hunting animals and require alternative stimulus when caged to maintain mental health. This is why environment enrichment is very important to their well being. Much like most kept small animals, sugar gliders need exercise. To attempt to supplement what they are missing by being caged, exercise wheels are super important. It is recommended to have two 11"+ exercise wheels in every cage, even if there is a single glider. I recommend a stealth wheel with the solid body. Do NOT use a wire body wheel as it has moving parts that can seriously injure your gliders.
Sugar gliders love to investigate things. You can help generate interest by inserting a new cardboard box into the cage nightly or often. Your suggie will sniff all over it and mark it and hide in it. Sometimes males will chew on a box as an outlet for sexual angst. Paper tubes are good items for play as well. Many glider owners make their own pouches and toys for their gliders enrich their gliders lives. I'll include links to a dozen or so designs below. If you don't feel crafty enough to make your own, you can look for baby toys at yard sales for great prices or find a glider supply shop that specializes in handmade glider toys that they sell online.
Even with lots and lots of toys and play areas for your gliders they'll still need time out of their cages with you. I recommend buying a small inexpensive tent on sale or picking one up at a yard sale or online and decorating it with lots of toys and hiding places inside. Then you can crawl inside with the gliders and have a safe place to play with them that keeps them away from dangerous areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
